Satemwa grows 890 hectares of cultivated tea along the slopes of Thyolo mountain. Reaching heights of up to 1460m. The estate offers spectacular views and magical trails through cobbled stones paths, red soiled trails, and trimmed tea hedges. While tall blue gum eucalyptus line across vast tea bushes creating a tranquil oasis of preserved beauty, heritage and history. Take a cycle back into time and explore one of Malawi‘s longest standing family owned tea plantations on a scenic bicycle ride. Immersing in the smells of pines and plucked tea then treat yourself  to a 2 course lunch over  varieties of organic tea flavours  and delicious cream scones before proceeding to a delightful chose of lunch at the Huntingdon House.

08h00 – 09h30 Blantyre - Satemwa Tea & Coffee Estate (Huntingdon House)

In the morning your guide will pick you up from your lodge for a scenic transfer to the Huntingdon House (50 min). Where your bicycles are prepared, pumped and fitted to your comfort

09h30 - 12h00 Satemwa Tea Estate Loop (10km)

Cycle out into a light and steadily elevated route of undulating hills leading to the picnic view spot. Hedged on a hill overlooking the rolling tea plantations . Here we will enjoy a light treat of apples and chocolate before cycling back to the Huntingdon House. Return along a route through indigenous woodlands of blue gums and acacia’s and lined trees planted across the estate passing the charming tea factory.

12h00 – 14h00 Huntingdon House

Enjoy a refreshing menu of homemade iced Satemwa tea varieties from Gin and Tea to Mint Verdana. The choice is yours and await to be served and settled for lunch. A 2 course main and dessert menu.

14h00 - 15h00 Huntingdon House – Blantyre

Return back to your lodge in Blantyre or continue further with travel arrangements to Mulanje for beautiful hiking and overnight mountain trekking. End of tour
