Airport collection at Chileka International Airport. A friendly meet and greet before departing with a scenic transfer (1h30 hours) to your first overnight stay in Malawi at Game Haven Lodge.
Game Haven Lodge –

After breakfast drop off your excess luggage at reception and prepare to cycle for 73.5km to slopes of Mount Mulanje. Here you will overnight at the Likhubula Forest Lodge.
Likhubula Forest Lodge – is an old charming colonial house with en suite rooms and hot showers overlooking the slopes of Mulanje. Nice view with cosy character and intimate hospitality. A peaceful retreat with easy access for hikes to the mountain waterfall and rock pools within walking distance. A tranquil night’s sleep rest in the cedar’s.

In the morning, meet with your mountain guide and porter. Today you will start your hike from the Likhubula Forest Lodge and continue up the skyline to the Chambe Basin for 3-5 hours with 1,000m of gradual ascent on a well-trodden path. Here you will overnight at the Chambe Hut with lunch on route. (Guide, porter, kitchen utensils, food, fees , sleeping kit and bottle of wine included)
Chambe Basin – A picturesque loop to get a real sense of Mount Mulanje’s high plateau and view Chambe Peak’s dramatic east face starting from Likhubula. The circular route ascends the Skyline and descends the Chapaluka path – two paths in close proximity but interestingly different. Likhubula falls (Dziwe la Nkhalamba) is a short detour on the return stretch. Where you will get chance to dive into the waterfalls and swim and the stream which follows all the way down the mountain.

After morning breakfast, prepare your gear for a 3- 5 hour descend down the Chapaluka path. Panoramic views and a gradual descend along to the Likhubula falls here you can take a light lunch and enjoy a refreshing swim in the cold pools. Continue to end the hike with an overnight at Likhubula Forest Lodge.
Mount Mulanje – is a hiker’s paradise, enchanting and challenging in equal measure. The rocky peaks, high grasslands, deep gorges and powerful rivers transport the visitor into another world. Mount Mulanje is the highest peak in South-Central Africa – Sapitwa peak reaches a towering 3,002m. It is a huge, isolated massif with 20 peaks of more than 2,500m rising out of a disjointed plateau. A great impression of impregnability is given by its precipitous flanks which rise abruptly from the flat plain below. The west face of Chambe offers the longest rock climb in the whole of Africa – 1,700m of sheer cliff. Absolute serenity and peace.

Mulanje to Zomba Forest Plateau
Begin your cycle today for 110km to the lower escarpment of Zomba Plateau. Steady inclinations along expansive scenic roads, with a finale 10km climb into the forest reserve. Here you will overnight at Zomba Forest Lodge.

is a small colonial cottage nestled on the escarpment of Zomba Mountain, just within the Forest Reserve. It lies in 20 acres of mixed woodland, home to samango and vervet monkeys, a number of antelope and a host of birds, butterflies and flowers. Situated on the slopes of Zomba Plateau the lodge is ideal for walking, hiking, mountain biking & relaxing.

Zomba Plateau – Liwonde
Cycle further out and descend towards Liwonde using the M3 for 68km passing views of mountains until reaching the outlying areas of the Liwonde National Park. Here you will overnight at Bushman’s Baobab
Regular visits from elephants are common in this baobab covered lodge. Guests can enjoy authentic bush settings in thatched chalets and en-suite walk in tents shaded in dense savannah and baobab woodlands. Enjoy the splash pool and sunset overlooking Liwonde as the sun sets from there raised hide game viewing deck.

Bushman’s Baobab – Liwonde National Park
After breakfast prepare for today’s cycle. A local guide will accompany you to cycle through the Mopane and Baobab woodlands for 38.1km. Completely off road which cycles through villages and farmlands of tobacco, cotton and rice fields. Route connects along the shire river to the boat crossing where you will depart with a boat to Mvuu. Estimated arrival by lunch time. Enjoy lunch then prepare an afternoon of game-viewing activities and sundowners. Here you will overnight at Mvuu Camp

Cycle today for 55km to the shores of Lake Malawi. Here you will collect your kayaks and paddle across the lake to the freshwater island of Domwe (6km). Enjoy the rest of the afternoon relaxing in a hammock or snorkelling with the colourful fishes!

After sunrise breakfast Kayak transfer today for 8km or 1.5hrs of kayaking to nearby Mumbo Island. Enjoy the rest of day exploring the island, kayaking, snorkelling, swimming or simply relaxing barefoot on the soft sands and clear waters.
